Welcome to the May 2022 edition of the GANZ Newsletter. As you can see, the newsletter comes in a new format. We are presenting a range of Professional Development (PD) opportunities for GANZ members and an update on the activities of the GANZ Council. We are also asking you a few questions about your GANZ membership and your preferred ways of communication with GANZ.
Happy reading and we are looking forward to hearing from you!
NEW GANZ COUNCIL
We have restructured the GANZ council in order that we have a functioning executive committee. The role of Vice President is now shared by two of the current members Michelle Siers (Professional development Chair) and Karolina Krysinska (Research Chair). The role secretary is now filled by Annie Garrety who has stepped down from the role of president, thus completing a full executive committee of Treasurer, Vice-President and Secretary as per the regulations for incorporated organisations.
GANZ FUNDS DISTRIBUTED
Last year the council decided to offer financial support to the training institutes during the covid crisis. Council decided to provide each Institute with $2000 in the form of a Grant. These grants have now had their funds distributed for the projects nominated. The funds went to support development for the trainers in online pedagogy for both GTB and TRIA. GTA was granted funds to aid in the development of their Reconciliation Action Plan which they will share with GANZ and the other institutes when it is completed in October 2022.
